Dvorak
not as pretty as Brahms
nor as majestic as Beethoven
nor as finely textured as Mozart –
but goddamned triumphant

a well-balanced, futuristic synthesis
of the rhythms of Native American dance
and the melodies of Negro Spirituals
and the bassline of joyous Bohemia –
a new world still is coming:
triumphant, indeed.
