April 24, 2014 #NaPoWriMo14

I remember the first poem
I wrote: it was for a third grade
bulletin board outside the library
at Bluford School

I only recall one line:
“the sun is brightly shining,”
and a sketch I made
of the sun with yellow crayon –

The rest is lost in time,
in recycled bulletin board trash,
straight pins and bent thumb
tacks, dried Elmer’s glue.
